Delete Your Data

This page explains how you can ask for the data we hold about you to be deleted. It applies to the app The Hotel Cat, listed on Google Play as "Hotel Cat: Rate Hotels & Food" and published by Erdal Irmak, an independent developer, and to this website. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. No accounts

The app has no accounts or sign-in. We therefore cannot identify you by a username or email address, and there is no in-app option to delete your data. Deletion is handled by request, as described below.

2. How to request deletion

  1. Send an email to support@thehotelcat.com with the subject "Delete my data".
  2. Identify the card or cards concerned by stating the venue name, the approximate date of creation, and the name you typed on the card, if any. We need this information to locate your records.
  3. We may ask you for further details if we cannot locate the records or need to confirm that the request relates to your card.
  4. We will reply within 30 days and confirm when the deletion has been carried out.

3. What we delete

The card is then hidden and is no longer shown to anyone or made available to businesses. Copies that a business has already viewed or saved under its own terms are outside our control.

4. What we may keep

The star ratings, the date, and a minimal set of technical records (the random installation ID, app version, device model, and the record of which app you chose when sharing) remain, without any venue name, location, name, or IP address. We keep them for statistics and security, and, where the law allows, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Web server logs are kept for up to 12 months and are then removed.

5. Videos you have shared

The video card is created and stored on your phone. We do not receive the video file. When you share it, it is sent to the app or service you choose, and that service, and anyone who has received it, may keep, copy or republish it. We have no access to, and no control over, those copies, and we cannot delete or remove them. Deleting your data from our servers does not affect them.

To remove a video you have posted, please use the deletion options of the app or website where you posted it, or contact that service. You can delete the video from your own phone at any time.

6. Your other rights

You may also exercise your other rights, such as access, correction or objection, in the same way. They are described in section 9 of our Privacy Policy. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
